How To Make $22,000 Plus In Just 4 Days?

As they say nothing ever comes easy or without some work involved. If your up for a challenge and you don't mind a bit of danger, there is one job where you can make thousands of dollars in just a few days. Of course, it doesn't come without it's risk. In fact, it is the most dangerous job in the world with a fatality rate 30 times higher than any other in the world. Still, if you've got it in you and you can get a spot, there's good money to be made.

What's the job? Crab fishing in Alaska on the Bering Sea in the middle of winter, working 20 plus hour shifts with little more than a couple hours break between them, battling 20 to 30 foot waves when it's 20 degrees on a ship that's sometimes covered in inches of ice on a sea that's as unforgiving as your wife or girlfriend after she finds you banging her best friend.

If you haven't watched it, then I highly recommend you check out the reruns of this season's Deadliest Catch on Discovery Channel. All I can say is these guys are crazy nuts and next time I sit down to enjoy an Alaskan King Crab that I paid $30/lb or more for I'll certainly have a better appreciation for it after seeing what these guys go through to catch them. It's definitely good money, even a greenhorn stands to make a years worth of slopping hamburgers in just a few weeks if they can brave the brutality of the Bering Sea.

So, if you think bloggings hard, here's a couple of videos to remind you what it could be like. Check them out after the jump.
What do you think? Could you handle it?

I'm sure I could, provided I get to stay in the wheel house with the Captain where it's nice and warm, but that's about as far as I'm willing to consider going, homey ain't going out the deck for nothing.

  1. Man, The Deadliest Catch is one of my favorite shows! I’m bummed now that the season is over. It seems like it just got started.

I think this season was the best. At least as far as the weather is concerned.

Can you imagine those guys on the Wizard haulin’ in 55 grand!

And that A-hole greenhorn the picked up in the bar. What a wuss! It’s one thing when you can’t handle the work, but when you throw a fit like that? I wonder what would have happened if the camera’s had not been there!

    Don

  2. lol that life is very risky but still guys like me can do anything for 22000$ hahaa.

  3. You sure got my attention with that headline in my RSS reader. I didn’t know what to expect.

  4. Great show! I started watching it last year and love it. Its crazy how much money you can make in such a short time, but I don’t think id be game for it. I can’t stand cold weather, much less ice and crazy a$$ waves and such. More power to em though!

  5. That’s the job for real men! :) Better then go army dot com….

  6. I’ve enjoyed watching Dangerous Catch many a night - mainly because those guys put their life on the line, and no two days look to be the same. I think things have changed a bit since they assigned quotas per boat, instead of per fleet, and lengthened the season. BUT, it’s still a crazy bit of work for the money.. especially the greenhorns who are lucky to make $10 an hour their first season or two. I think I’d take my chances at blackjack before putting it all on the line like those guys - hats off to em!

  7. $22000 ?
    is it real
    is very lot…… so envy

  8. I never knew those guys make that much money! Wow, for that kind of loot, I’d rough it for a few days. Although I’m not sure it’s worth my life, but what the hell.

  9. i say that i won’t take a trial.

  10. Oh my god!! fair play to these guys but I wouldn’t risk my life like that even if it is for $22,000 a day.

Enjoy my home conforts too much!!!!

  11. I absolutely love this show. Mike Rowe is a great narrator and the show is extremely well edited. What those guys go through is pretty close to frozen hell, but in the end, those that stick with it, probably do very well for themselves.

  12. is it wort the money if you just die there? It is better to make it as affiliate marketer :)

  13. And I thought having crabs was a bad thing…
