DirecTV HR20-700 is a poor attempt at making junk

HR20-700 HD DVR

A month ago I received my HR20-700 from DirecTV. After months and months of waiting I would finally be able to record the HD programs that I like to watch every week. I’ve had an RCA DTC-210 HD receiver for some time and it’s worked flawlessly with both OTA and satellite delivered HD feeds, but when it comes to recording my DirecTivo has always carried the load. So imagine my excitement when I finally get the call that the HD DVR is available. Now I revert to one unit vs. two and have the best of both worlds, right? Wrong! I suppose if your desperate enough, one might misunderstand this ad to be for the picture and not what’s described in the auction title and description.

So who is desperate enough to pay $485 for a PS3 controller. That would be the same eBayer that recently paid $100 to win this auction, “Sony PlayStation 3 - Game console Mystery Auction” where it also clearly states:

If your like many of those people, you found out Santa has a jolly ole sense of humor. After rushing the kids through opening packages, racing to make the rounds to various family, scarfing down dried up turkey and fixings, you head off to the living room to embark on this adventure so many of your coworkers brag about experiencing. Only to find hours later, your old television set looked better.

In previous years, whenever we got a new television it was a simple thing to plug them in and turn them on. At most you had to adjust the antenna or maybe wait for the cable company to come by but there was very little effort on your part. That’s no longer true. No longer can you simply plug the set in an expect it to work, now you have to have HD service to go along with that HD set.
