Wow. Can you believe it? We made our first post one year ago today. Awesome! It’s been a lot of fun, some times more than others, but hey it can’t be wine & roses all the time right? Anyway, just a super big huge thanks to the readers, I certainly appreciate your support. Here’s to an even better second year.
I’ve been thinking of making a some pretty significant changes to the blog. Having done this for a year now there are definitely a few things I would have done differently and I’d like to change. The first being moving all the “Make Money Online” and “Blogging” related content to another site. I broke down and decided to use jamespegram.com since that seems to be the norm these days. I’ll be moving a number of the non-tech related posts there, where it makes sense. Some aren’t worth the trouble, some need to stay here and others will move. I’ll also be culling some older content that in hindsight might not have been such a great idea or just didn’t do anything.
The biggest reason for this is having looked back at my analytics for the past 6 months, it’s clear that what’s being read on Reality Wired is all the gadgetry stuff so I think it just make sense to stick with that and move the other elsewhere. So if your hanging out looking for my keen insights on how to make money online or you’re more interested in my monthly revenue reports then be sure to sign up for the new James Pegram dot com RSS feed and stay up to date.
Other changes will be more subtle, mostly related to the theme. I keep tweaking it a little here and a little there but I’ve just not gotten the right picture in my head for it. I’ll also be updating some of the categories so they more accurately represent what I feel Reality Wired is covering. Lastly, I’m toying with the idea of a permalink change. This one I’m not 100% on yet but I’m close. Don’t worry though, if they change, all the old links will be 301 redirected to keep any linkage intact.
Anyhow, that’s pretty much it in a nutshell. Nothing major really, I think the split will be beneficial and make things easier for me to keep up with as well. Again, thanks to everyone that reads my blog, I appreciate everyone taking the time. Have a safe and happy holidays.
I’ve upgraded the blog to Wordpress 2.3, for the most part everything went fine. I’ve got a couple custom modifications I’ve made that I had to move over to the new codebase but other than that, it was pretty painless. Most of the plugins I was using seem to work fine but I upgraded them just the same to get any new features. There’s a couple of small issues but those are plugin related and should be resolved soon but don’t affect the operation of the blog at all. Everything else should be normal. If you run into any issues, just drop me a note either in the comments or via the contact form.
Well, after the flame out of the server the past couple of days, I figured I might as well go ahead and swap themes on the blog. Anthony Baggett put together this pretty slick theme and I thought it would fit really well with this blog. So after a few minor modifications, here it is. Hope you all like it.
There’s still one or two minor issues, those mostly plague the p.o.s Internet Explorer browser and I’ll get those fixed soon. For now, they are hardly noticeable so I’m letting them go. Let me know what you think in the comments and I’m open to suggestions about things to add.
