DIY Helicopter For $3000

Hey, remember the guy in Nigeria that made the homemade helicopter out of spare parts? Well here's a guy in China that made a homemade helicopter with just $3000. The downside is, it's taken him nearly 10 years to get it completed and he just started test flights a few months ago. Check out the helipcopter in action.

That’s fantastic. You’ve got to admire the ingenuity and engineering skills of the bloke - not to mention his piloting skills and the fantastically reckless disregard for normal health and safety conventions that govern where you’re allowed to fly!
I see two alternative outcomes for this guy. First, that the Chinese authorities have taken him away and sent him off for ‘re-education’. Second, that the Chinese authorities are at this very moment on their way to take him away and send him off for re-education!
