iBoobs Never Jiggling On An iPhone Near You

Consider this a public service announcement, with attention to Team Ninja. Apple apparently doesn’t want developers to experiment with breast physics on the iPhone. The developers of iBoobs say Apple denied their app.

What does it do? Jiggles jubblies, basically. And, according to the developer(?), they had “many ideas for things like touch screen [support]” and “adjustable physics settings and breast size” but say that Apple nixed the simulation.

Is This The iPhone Nano?

200812232232.jpg

According to MacRumors, this iPhone Nano picture is “consistent with previously released case designs for the rumored device.” Official information has not yet been released.

It seems the “iPhone Nano” is the rumor that is going take the spotlight ahead of this year’s Macworld, and while MacRumors is publishing these photos and rumors, we have some serious doubts about the likelihood of such a device.

Apple 24 Inch Cinema Display

Man do I ever want one of these. The new 24-inch Apple Cinema Display features “a native 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, built-in iSight camera / microphone, integrated stereo speakers and a 3-port USB hub”. It’s priced at $899, pretty much in line with older cinema displays. Ya’ll send me some donations so I can get one…

Get A Mac Ad On CNN.com

This has to be one of the most creative ad spots I’ve ever seen.

The ad consists of two different ad sections on the site both loading in sync and communicating to each other. The “Mac” is shown at the top ad, and the “PC” on the right side, and they continue to talk to each other in another example of a successful and funny Apple ad.

Overclock Your Macbook Pro: Melts Everything It Touches

ZDNet has come up with an application that will allow you to overclock your Macbook Pro or Apple Xserve (provided they’re Intel processors and running at least OS X 10.5). Initial tests suggest the overclocking will allow the lower end Macbook Pro to perform at least as well as the topend model but no guarantee the fans can hold up to the heat generated.

ZDNet uses three Mac Pros as test machines. One comes from the first Intel/Mac Pro generation (Mac Pro 1.1) with 65-nanometer processors and 1333-MHz front side bus. The others come from the third generation with 45-nanometer processors and 1600-MHz front side bus, as sold by Apple since January 2008 (Mac Pro 3.1). The first computer is equipped with two 2.66 GHz X5355 processors, and runs stable at 3.10 GHz, see figure 2. The other two have two 2.80 GHz E5462 processors. These can be overclocked up to 3.24 GHz and remain stable

Stable maybe, but the Macbook Pro already runs hot, even with the fans jacked up to 6000rpm it’s a hot little machine. I watched an Apple tech put a Macbook Pro into some kind of loop that tested the processors, running both cores up to 100%. Took it about 15 second to start glowing. Makes me wonder how this would affect the heat output as well.

Apple Considering Slider Style iPhone

I’m a bit late with this rumor but it makes for an interesting question anyway. The Register reported last week that Apple may be considering developing a slider style iPhone to succeed the (yet to be released iPhone 3G). I know there’s a number of Crackberry freaks out there that prefer the QWERTY style keyboards and/or hate typing on a touch screen. That said, having used both, I much prefer the iPhone touch screen but that’s just me. So, let’s say Apple did concoct an iPhone with some sort of full keyboard (with real keys) would you use it or would you prefer it stay as it is?

Samsung Tells Customers To Wait After Apple Orders 50 Million NAND Chips

Engagets got an interesting post talking about an order for NAND chips Apple recently made. Apparently Apple placed and order for 50 million 8Gb equivalent NAND chips. Samsung, the maker of the chips has apparently told the rest of their customer to bugger off until they can produce the large bulk order. It’s good to be the king, eh!

MAC OS X Mini-Update: Snow Leopard

There’s a bunch of talk floating around about the upcoming MAC OS mini-update “Snow Leopard” (aka: OS X 10.6). While the screen shots disappear about as fast as they appear (no doubt Apple trying to keep up the suspense) a few of the more interesting details have emerged. It appears the update will include things like Safari 4.0’s “Save As Web Application” feature and Exchange integration with th Address Book. Another big egg drop is the fact the PowerPC world may be at an end. Rumor is, Apple will finally drop backwards compatibility for the PowerPC and only Intel CPUs will get to experience the awesomeness that will be OS X 10.6. Personally, I can’t wait.
