One-third of us copy DVDs

Wow, this comes as a complete shock (insert snicker here) but that’s what one study done by Futuresource Consulting shows.
The study was done in May 2008 in the U.S. and the U.K. with the sample size of more than 5,000 people. As it turns out, one-third of all the respondents in both countries admit to having made copies of prerecorded DVDs, on average about 13 titles each, in the last six months, up from just over a quarter of respondents in 2007. At this rate, before you know it, most of us will be copying DVDs.
The basis for the study was to find out why studio sales were in decline and based on the results of this study, the report goes on to suggest that protecting revenues will become more important for studios in the future because they don’t feel they are making enough money. What a joke that is, I work all day and I’ve never felt I got paid enough, maybe I should demand more money. Here’s a thought, maybe try making something worth paying for.
