Here’s a lucky bastard. Edmunds Inside Line editor Alistair Weaver took a few laps in a Renault Formula One car to find out what it was like to drive one. I’m pretty sure it was freaking awesome and I didn’t need to go to Europe to figure that one out. I’d crash it anyway, then I’d have to spend the next three forevers sweeping shop floors to pay for it.

It’s like learning to drive all over again. Heart pumping, I ease out the clutch, feeling for the biting point, anticipating the first sign of forward motion, wanting it so badly. The wheels start to move, the clutch is out and the engine is still alive!

I let out a high-pitched yelp of delight that’s uncomfortably girly. I am living the dream; I am driving a Formula 1 car.

Girly huh. That’s not exactly the picture that comes to mind.
