TechLasers 95mW Infiniti II Green Laser Review

Techlasers contacted me a while back asking if I wanted to review one of their green lasers. Being all about cool toys I agreed and it wasn’t long before they had sent me one of their Infiniti II Green Lasers. I gotta say these things are kick ass cool. It was especially fun on Halloween night while spooking in the local corn maze, I’m not sure which was more fun, scaring people in costume or freaking people out with the laser. It also made for great fun during the New Years countdown.
The laser itself comes packaged in a nice box and is accompanied by orange safety goggles and a note recommending they be worn when the laser is in use. They’re not lying, I aimed it down the hall and it was so bright I had to close my eyes. The casing is metal painted with a flat blue finish and comes with a silver carrying tube that’s very handy for traveling, allowing you to just stick it in your pocket.
The laser takes 2 AAA batteries, which it phenomenal considering how much power it puts out and what’s even better, they seem to last a good while. I’ve been playing with the laser off and on for several weeks now and the batteries last a pretty good while but I found that to get optimal performance from the laser you need good batteries. On a fresh set of batteries you can do things like burn holes in black plastic, pop black or dark balloons and light matches. We were able to pop a black balloon that was filled with air only, we tried serveral times to get it to pop one filled with water but it never would. We tried both warm and hot water in the balloon but it seemed the laser cooled too fast on the surface it would never penetrate. Oh well, it’s still powerful enough to be dangerous so caution should be exercised when using this laser and it makes a great pointer, especially if you’re star gazing, just don’t be pointing at any airplanes, that could get you a visit from some men in black suits.

DIY Home Laser Show Reacts To Music

Who doesn’t love green lasers? I mean they’re really, really cool gadgets to play around with. Here’s a cool DIY mod that creates a laser light project that also reacts to music. Sweet!
For those of you who’re into a little bit of creative electronics as well as fancying yourself as a bit of a mean DJ, this DIY laser light show may be just the thing to spice up your parties. Not only will the project spray laser light around (and who doesn’t like laser light shows?) but it also reacts to music, so you’ll have your own laser visualizer.

BlissLights Laser Wand

Andrew over at OhGizmo got his hands on a BlissLights Laser Wand to review. I reviewed a Green DragonLaser a few months back and I’ve seen the BlissLights talked about before but never paid it much attention. After reading Andrew’s review it might be worth the time to play around with. If nothing else, it’d be a hell of a lot of fun to torment the occasional Raccoon hunter out here in the sticks at night with.
DragonLasers: Hulk Series - Hand Held Green Lasers

There’s been a couple of reviews around about Dragon Lasers, the most recent I’ve seen is from OhGizmo. A rep for the company that makes them contacted me about doing a review of the product and I’m happy to report I got the shipping notice today (thanks Frank). From what I’ve read these babies are pretty cool so I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I live out in the country so if you hear anything about strange lights in the skies of rural North Carolina, that’ll be me. Look for the review in a few weeks, after we give it a good work out.
