Taser launches new Personal Protection stun gun
Taser launched a stylish new Taser product today at the Las Vegas electronics fair. The “consumer friendly” stun gun is smaller than the current civilian model and can incapacitate a target with up to 50k volts. Not considered firearms by the US government the guns have recently been the subject of much debate following a series of deaths attributed to their use. Taser said the gun will initially be sold inert until the purchaser completes an online background check.
“The new device brings our life-saving technology into a new, consumer friendly form factor designed to provide a safer, effective means of personal protection,” said Taser’s chairman, Tom Smith.
