Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince Movie Trailer

If you’ve read the Harry Potter books then you already know the story is headed down a dark road. The last movie gave us a hint of that dark road but Half Blood Prince looks to immerse us fully into the dark and ominous world. I’ve not read the story but it focuses on Tom Riddle who later grows up to become Lord Voldermont. From the trailer this story is finally starting to look like a real film and not a bunch of cute kids playing with dangerous magic.

Morally Repressed Mattel Pulls “Vibrating” Harry Potter Broomstick

In yet another sign that we live in the United States of the Morally Repressed toy maker giant Mattel pulled what was sure to be the hottest Christmas item this century (or at least the wettest). The Harry Potter Nimbus 2000 Broom, a replica of the famous flying stick used by boy wizard Harry Potter has girls and their moms flying with glee.

Here’s a few reviews from the Amazon listing before it was also pulled (imagine that).

This toy was #1 on my daughter’s Christmas list. So what the heck, although it has no educational value I figured it would be good for imaginative play. It wasn’t until after she opened her gift and started playing with it that I realized that the toy may offer a more than sensational experience. The broomstick has cute sound effects and ***VIBRATES*** when they put it between their legs to fly. Come on—what were the creators of this toy thinking? She’ll keep playing with the Nimbus 2000, but with the batteries removed.

I recently bought this for my son, Vantro. He’s a HUGE Harry Potter fan. Seen the movie 32 times (in the theaters) and made the paper. This toy gives him the ability to fly around the house zapping things. My only problem I see with the toy is the batteries drain too fast and his sister fights him over it, so now I need to buy her one.

When my 12 year old daughter asked for this for her birthday, I kind of wondered if she was too old for it, but she seems to LOVE it. Her friends love it too! They play for hours in her bedroom with this great toy. They really seem to like the special effects it offers (the sound effects and vibrating). My oldest daughter (17) really likes it too! I reccomend this for all children.

My 12 year old daughter is a big Harry Potter fan, and loved the part with the Nimbus 2000, so I decided to buy her this toy. I was afraid she would think it was too babyish, but she LOVES this toy. Even my daughter’s friends enjoy playing with this fun toy. I was surprised at how long they can just sit in her room and play with this magic broomstick! A great buy for any Harry Potter fan! :)

If your quick, there’s a couple of auctions on eBay selling the broom. Once word gets out they’ve been yanked from shelves the prices are sure to skyrocket. Leave it to this country to find something wrong in a kids toy… DOH!

Here’s a couple of pics of the “toy” off eBay:

Life Lesson. Don’t F*** With The Harry Potter Fans

harrypotter.jpg

Just so you know, I laughed my ass off when I saw this. Why? Because it’s freaking funny, that’s why. Whether you like it or not the internet has been flooded with spoilers about the final book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Some guy by the name of Len decided to take the whole thing beyond the traditional “flood the internet” method and actually embedded spoilers in a DVD rip of the movie “Evan Almighty”, which was then put up on torrents for download.

Imagine, you’re a Potter fan but you’ve been taking your time, absorbing every last detail of this last book, when you decide to take break and watch a movie. Imagine as the film runs you’re watching a scene in a bar, where the patrons are watching TV, all of a sudden the TV starts flashing messages about the latest Harry Potter book. You know things like, “Harry Potter { insert spoiler here } “. Oh yeah, that’s some funny stuff there. I can sympathize with the Potter crowd though, if someone had told me Frodo managed to destroy the One Ring and save Middle Earth before I got to see it on the big screen, I’d have been pissed off but good.

That’s just what the Potter fans are too. Some have even resorted to posting death threats on Len’s site. Even Rowlings came out and asked that people not spoil the book for other fans. Ok, and one shouldn’t throw gas on an already burning fire. By the way, technically speaking it was Golum that caused the destruction of the One Ring and not Frodo. If you’ve got a problem with me spoiling that for you fine, I’ll be out back in about an hour, right after I find my Yoda ears and some sparklers to use as a wand. You’ve been warned.

Download Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Did you get your copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at midnight? Have you been reading since you got it? Do you know who lives and who dies yet? Do you care? As far as book series go, you have to admit, it’s been a great ride for J.K. Rowling but I wonder just what she must feel knowing it’s really over now? Rarely do concepts such as this take on a life of their own but this one sure did and it’s spawned a whole cult following and even managed to get itself added to the “banned books” list in virtually every school library.

Soon enough it’ll be common knowledge what happens to the main characters. We’ve been teased with the rumors of multiple deaths and no doubt it won’t be long before those are revealed and the hype will subside. Some apparently can’t wait to get the word out, as the 759 page book has apparently been photographed and turned into an ebook, and made available on multiple torrent sites. There’s also rumor of a typed version is floating around as well.

I’m not one to really support the pirating movement, unless of course it’s some Microshaft is peddling, but if your less scrupulous than I am or your just bored, have a go at The Pirate Bay. A search of Harry Potter - The Death Hallows” should turn up some reasonable results for you. For everyone else who believes good work should be justly rewarded, get your copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from Amazon now.

Well, looks like it’s time to find another hobby. Early reports are it’s terminal and those that can fix it are apparently still standing in line to get their copy of the final Harry Potter book, The Deathly Hollows.
