Wal-Mart DRM Music Will Cease to Play on October 9


Walmart began selling DRM-free tracks in its music store in August of last year. 13 months later, the mega-corp has decided to follow the footsteps of so many others and hit the kill switch on its DRM management servers.

As noted in an e-mail to customers, Wally World will be making the final transition into a fully DRM-free MP3 store on October 9th, and in order to keep those DRM-laden files playable on anything, it’s recommended that you burn protected files on a CD on the double.

Gears Of War 2 Sound Effects


Here’s a neat video talking about what goes into making the sounds that will be in the new Gears of War 2 releasing Nov. 7th. I think it’d be really fun working on a project like this sometime.

An interesting factoid is that 85% of the audio in the game is new, according to Audio Director Mike Larson. There’s also a brief interview with the game’s composer, Steve Jablonsky, who did the music for Command & Conquer 3 and the Transformers movie.

Apple To Announces The iBoob


I found this while Stumbling so I’ve no clue who dreamed it up but whomever you are.. good for you, I laughed my ass off so I just had to share. According to an unnamed source Apple has developed a new chip that can store and play music in women’s breast implants. Imagine, women can finally stop complaining about men not listening to them… DOH! Rumored cost is between $499 and $599.
