Netflix Promising Mac Movie Streaming By Years End

Hey Mac heads, Netflix is finally getting with the programming and promising us a Mac version of their streaming movie viewer by the end of the year. I’ll hold my breath on this one.
You can watch these online on your PC or your TV via a Netflix ready device. Netflix ready devices include the Netflix Player by Roku, which is available now, the LG BD300 Blu-ray Network player, which will be available in a few days, or the Xbox 360, which will instantly stream movies from Netflix later this fall. And, for all of you Mac users (of which I am one) we’ve been busy working getting a solution that will allow you to watch instantly on your Mac. So hang in there - we’ll have something for you by the end of the year.

To be honest, I’m pretty excited about the update, even though the new dashboard looks a bit like they drug it out of Second Life. Still, pretty cool, the inclusion of Netflix downloads is awesome as well, that just might make me splurge on an HD upgrade for the XBOX 360. Get more on the revamped dashboard here and the Netflix partnership here.
Turn Your XBOX 360 Into A Media Center

Lifehacker has a great post on turning your XBOX 360 into a media center using a few free tools off the internet and a little elbow grease. The only downside to this is it requires a dedicated Windows computer running Windows XP Media Center but hey, it’s a cheap way to get that HTPC you’ve always wanted and once you’re setup you can begin streaming Netflix videos right to the XBOX 360. How cool is that.
Stream Netflix Movies With Your Xbox 360

Until then, check out this handy “How To” on turning your XBOX 360 into a streaming Netflix player and get your “Watch Instantly” library on your TV screen. sounds like a weekend project to me.
