Nikon D90 DSLR

SlashGear reader Chase Jarvis has spent the past few months giving the new
Nikon D90 DSLR a good workout. The D90 is packed with a 12.3 megapixel chip, 720p video recording and GPS tagging. The Nikon D90 DSLR answers the call for creative freedom with advanced features that benefit all levels of photographers.

Hands-on impressions are good, with ergonomics and weight (1lb. 6oz) both apparently “spot on”. Some of the DSLR purists were concerned about the inclusion of video recording, however the possibility of manual depth of field control, high-ISO filming and all of Nikon’s lens choices might tempt them round.

Nikon D700 DSLR: 12.1MP, 51-point autofocus, EXPEED processor

Nikon finally put all the speculation and rumors to rest over the new D700 DSLR digital camera making the official announcement on July 1st. The new camera has some nice features, sporting a 12.1-megapixel FX-format sensor, Nikon’s EXPEED Image Processing System, a 51-point auto focus system with 3D Focus Tracking and two Live View shooting modes for the 3-inch preview display. Although for the price tag ($2,999.95) it won’t be gracing my camera bag anytime soon. You can check out a preview over at DPRview.

Nikon Announces D40X 10.2 Megapixel dSLR

Nikon has released a new 10.2 megapixel digital SLR. The D40X is the replacement for the D40 and is essentially the same camera with a few enhancements. If your a Nikon advocate and looking to take the plunge into the dSLR world without forking out a fortune, this looks like a decent place to start.

Amazon.com has the D40X with a 18-55mm Nikkor lense for $799.95.
