The Google Navy

More proof that Google is out to take over the world comes in the recently filed patent application for a “Water-Based Data Center”. Essentially Google sees the worlds oceans as a potential energy source and thinks having datacenters located on ships is a good idea.
‘computing centers are located on a ship or ships, which are then anchored in a water body from which energy from natural motion of the water may be captured, and turned into electricity and/or pumping power for cooling pumps to carry heat away from computers in the data center.’

LEGO Aircraft Carrier: Ready To Defend A Small Country

LEGO’s! The greatest toy ever invented. I built all kinds of things with them when I was a kid and my son has tons of them too. Some of the newest models are wickedly cool but this has to be one of the coolest, if not the coolest model I’ve ever seen. Created from an idea, weighing roughly 350lbs, using 300,000 LEGO bricks and taking over a year to build, it’s a scale model of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman complete with electrical lights on the deck, hangar, aircraft, movable elevators, radar dishes and a motorized catapult.
