Zune Phone Will Kick The iPhones Ass
At least Mindy Mount, corporate vice president and CFO for Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division seems to believe that anyway. Speaking at a recent conference she lofted the notion that Microsoft could realistically compete with it's rumored Windows Mobile/Phone device. I know, you are all laughing hysterically but I'm serious, can't you just see the Microsoft brass sitting around in Redmond talking about what a piece of junk the iPhone is and how they can do it better.
Microsoft is rumored to be evolving its Zune multimedia player -- its rival to the iPod -- with new features out by the holiday time at the end of the year, though Mount declined to confirm this today. But a hybrid product melding Zune, which so far has had lackluster response from consumers, with Windows Mobile features is not completely unrealistic for the future.
I love picking on Microsoft and for the fanboys out there, get over it. I supported that crap for years, still do, much to my dismay. Mount graded the Zune's performance so far at a B-, if that's realistic then the Zune phone should be nothing short of craptacular. In fact, you can get a sneak peak at some super secret footage of the super secret Zune phone in action. I can't wait I tell you.
